Mr. Chewy Saves the Day!

Mr. Chewy saves the day!

I've been sitting on this $50 gift certificate that Mr. Chewy gave me for quite some time (oh, let's see...since...Jan 30th). I had planned on ordering the furkids some new food and treats but since we keep the food in a large garbage can out in the garage and no where to store a bag of food without someone trying to get in to it, I opted to wait until their was room in the storage can for it.

And then......

Cain got sick. Everything I was supposed to do fell to the wayside...homework....blogging...stuff...

I put everything off because I could not concentrate with Cains constant need to go outside. This is no exaggeration when I tell you he had to go out every 30min to an hour. It was hard to stay focused. I would lose my place, get frustrated because I could not remember what I was going to write next and just give up all together.

And then....

I created my account on Feb. 5th with the intention of ordering something for the furkids. I spent some time looking around the site, trying to figure out what I should get for them. So much time that I had to stop looking because I had to work on some projects for clients and get some homework done.

Cain passed away. Febuary 7th and I placed my order later that day because I knew Casey was going to need it. I had hoped a new bag of treats and some weight loss dog food would help her mood and get her health regulated.

The website is SO easy to navigate. It's not cluttered like so many pet websites tend to do. My order arrive within 2 days.

I purchased a giant bag of Beggin' Strips bacon for Casey. She loves them and they are semi-soft for her. Being a rescue, she was malnourished and her bottom teeth did not grow in very well so she has a hard time with her treats and food. I also purchased Science Diet Adult Light Small Bites because I needed a weight loss food that had small pieces for her. In the past I would purchase Diamond in the green bag for the furkids because it was good for them and the pieces were small for Casey. They did not have that kind.

I spend a few weeks mixing her food. 75/25 and then 50/50 and then 25/75 and now she is 100% on the weight loss program. Her and I have been walking now (at least on the days it has not snowed) and I have made sure to not leave her home if I don't have to when I am out and about. Just doing me best to keep her from slipping into depression.

She seems to like the food quite well. Once I finish the bag, I will take her down the street to the vet for a weigh in and post the final results. She still needs to lose about 20lbs Dr Buck says.

I don't have a lot of places to choose from for good dog food and this is the first time I have seen this particular variety. It has not bothered her tummy either. So, that's a win-win for me. I'm sure Ziggy could benefit from the site as well.

35lb bag was $44.99 and shipping was free for orders over $49.
