Poor Little Tink - Yesterday Her Whole World Changed (photos!)

Image
Poor little Tink. Yesterday her whole little world changed. She has been to the vet twice since we got her; she is only 6 months old. Her first was for her to meet the vet and the techs as well as get another booster shot. She received her first rounds with the folks we got her from. She was then seen a few weeks later for another check-up and booster. Now that she is 6 months, she's ready for her 6 month booster pack and for her spaying (is that even a word?). So, yesterday morning I took her in. Casey went along because she too needed her yearly boosters done and some grooming. Tink was not happy that I left without her. She was also micro-chipped. I am not taking any chanced with her. She's small and she's quick. I fear she may get away from me someday. Hopefully she will learn just like Cain and Casey did that it's pointless to run away from home.

Cain: One Year Ago Today

Image
RIP Cain  November 4, 2003  to Febuary 7, 2012 It was one year ago today I had to say goodbye to my beloved Cain . I remember the day like it was yesterday. I have yet to bury Cains ashes in the cemetery with  my grandparents. I'm just not ready to let go. I just want to keep him with me. So, I am going to spend some time today looking at pet urns and perhaps changing him from his tin box to a nice wooden one with some engraving.  I've also decided to buy a bamboo plant in his honor and plan to do that when he gets home tonight. I don't have to worry about the weather and I don't have to worry about it dying. It will live on forever, just like Cain's memory.

Cain's One Year

Image
We are coming up on the one year anniversary of Cain's passing. I wanted to do something, but I am not sure what. I thought about planting a tree. February in Michigan might not be the ideal time to do any planting. So I thought maybe an indoor plant would be nice. Maybe we could plant it outside when the weather became warmer. My only problem with that is we hope to move next year when we are both done with school (I should be done this year!). I want something I can take with me; something that won't have a high risk of dying.

Tink Models Her New Sweater

Image
We took the girls shopping at Petsmart over the weekend. I wanted to get a sweater for Tink because Michigan winter will be here soon and she already shivers in the morning. It makes it hard for her to potty when she is that cold. I realized something - dog clothes are expensive which is why I made an attempt to make clothes for her myself.

My First Homemade Sweater for Tink

Image
After watching a ton of videos on YouTube and reading tutorials on websites I decided to go outside and brave the cold to find some sweaters we had in the garage sale. I have some patterns, but I am too lazy at the end of the day to drag out the sewing machine. This sweater was made out of a human sweater sleeve and no sewing. It was all done with a hot glue gun. I found a lot of people doing "no-sew" dog clothes on YouTube. It wasn't bad for my first time. I had a few spots where the glue got on the sweater. You should sew the leg holes so they don't unravel or rip. I'll be making more clothing for Tinkerbell, so keep checking back.
